I sit in my windowsill and i watch the rain hit the pavement and the lightning flash. I am soothed as the thunder booms. This storm is my sweet surrender. I dangle my feet out the window and I feel the wind rush across my face. The rain hits my toes. The lightning illuminates the sky. The thunder rocks the earth into a deep slumber. The first summer rain. The best rain in the entire year. I can see the barefooted children in the streets. The parents smiling, safe and dry under their porches. And I sit in my windowsill and let the summer rain piter patter my feet and knees. The rain dances down the house and to the ground. You can almost hear the grass drinking it up. Everyone is happy and laughing. Monstrous thunder sounds and the barefooted children scatter into their loving parents arms. I sit in my windowsill as my room goes dark. The first summer rain, I'm in my windowsill swinging my legs. I watch the rain hit the pavement and the lightning flash. I hear the thunder boom. It is dark and I am in a sweet surrender.
About Sarah
- Sarah to the Bear,
- I'm too tall for my age and I have big feet to match. My friends are my life, they get me through the day. Laughing and Joy is my air, if that's taken away well...you do the math. My friends happiness is my key goal. When I'm with them I can do anything, except fly...I can't seem to do that yet.

That border ended up working alright. And I like the story - although since I know when you wrote it - I'm fairly certain there weren't children playing in the streets. But it's a great picture that was created in my mind by reading.
